The 1234 Strategy

Understand. Define. Execute. Prove.

Four stages that run in order and then start again. The fourth stage is not a report at the end of a campaign — it is the input for the next round of strategy.

1

Understand

2

Define

3

Execute

4

Prove

Stage four feeds back into stage one — continuous learning and optimization.

1

Understand

Understand the people, audience, available budget, market conditions and existing data.

We start by listening. Who is the business trying to reach, what has already been tried, what does the data actually say and what resources exist to work with?

This stage produces an honest picture: audience definition, market conditions, competitive pressure, budget reality and the state of existing measurement.

What comes out of this stage

  • Audience and market review
  • Existing data and analytics audit
  • Budget and resource assessment
  • Competitive landscape read
2

Define

Clarify the business goals, measurable objectives, desired outcomes and definition of success.

An objective is not a channel. Before any media is planned, we define what the business needs to accomplish and how success will be judged.

Everything downstream — message, creative, channel mix, budget allocation — is accountable to what gets written here.

What comes out of this stage

  • Business objective statement
  • Measurable KPIs and targets
  • Message and positioning direction
  • Success criteria and reporting cadence
3

Execute

Develop and execute the strategy, creative, messaging, media, platforms and tactical plan.

Concepting, production, build and launch happen under one roof. Campaign creative, video, landing pages, media buying and tracking are planned together rather than handed between vendors.

The plan states what runs where, why it runs there and what it is expected to do.

What comes out of this stage

  • Campaign concepts and creative
  • Video production and editing
  • Landing pages and funnels
  • Media plan and platform build-out
4

Prove

Measure performance, report meaningful findings, optimize the work and determine what happens next.

Reporting is written for decisions, not for decoration. We separate what worked, what did not and what we would change.

Findings return to stage one, which is where the next round of strategy begins.

What comes out of this stage

  • Attribution and performance reporting
  • Test results and optimization log
  • Findings and recommendations
  • Next-cycle strategy input

Every tactic has a reason. Every campaign has an objective. Every result gets measured.

Bring us the objective.

Tell us what the business needs to accomplish. We'll help determine the strategy, creative and channels required to move it forward.
